This summer has seen the opening of the Paul Klee Centre in Bern – a spectacular museum dedicated to the eminent Swiss-born expressionist painter (1879-1940) who was born in Münchenbuchsee, only a few kilometres from this city.

 

To mark the occasion, the Hotel Allegro has created a special Paul Klee Suite, dedicated not only to the artist himself but to the times in which he lived and worked. The exhibits include historic photographs of Klee and excellent reproductions of several of his works. The suite is further enhanced by its distinctive design and décor, reminiscent of Klee's time. The guest is transformed back to the Bauhaus period of architecture and design and offered a fascinating glimpse into the life of the great artist.
